Dear visitors,
It is a privilege for me to extend a warm welcome to the official website of IIUM Schools Sdn Bhd (ISSB) – formerly known as IIUM Lower Education Sdn Bhd..
International Islamic School Malaysia (IISM) and Sekolah Setiabudi (SB), have been operating in the tranquil area of Gombak located at the suburbs of Kuala Lumpur since 1998 (IISM), 2000 (SB Primary) and 2005 (SB Secondary). With a humble start of only 30 students in 1998, the enrolment of students coming from 47 countries, including Malaysia, has experienced tremendous growth in which the total number has reached to 2326 in the year 2023. The positive growth in the number of students’ enrolment indicates that the academic and non-academic teams have the consistency and strengths to provide a high quality learning experience with improved academic performance, as well as increase the quality of education the students receive here.
To maintain its good reputation today onwards, IIUM Schools Sdn Bhd (ISSB) goals are inclusive of enhancing and intensifying the quantity and quality of education systems delivered here to meet the national and international standards in order to drive improvements in the quality of the learning in students to excel in their studies.

With quality education, ISSB will be able to maintain its encouraging reputation and thus, pursue and expand the market in the near future. As Abu Bakar As-Siddiq (R.A.) says “knowledge is the life of the mind”, both schools provide conducive learning environment, aligned with the schools’ well-made visions and missions, to ensure that students are inspired to become a thoughtful, independent, as well as well-rounded individual with good academic performance and pleasant personality. Here, the greater emphasis goes to Islamic values and perspectives that are applied in the formal education, i.e., Hikmah programme, and also the informal education that happens outside the classroom, for instance, Congregational Prayers, Usrah, Ibadah Camps, Tahfeez programme etcetera. Our Islamic curricula are constantly and prudently being monitored by a respectable team of educators from the Kulliyyah of Education, International Islamic University Malaysia in order to preserve the state of the art of the Islamic teaching methodology and curricular contents.
With the understanding that young people tend to have greater need and interest for outdoor activities, comprehensive facilities for sports and games are available in our school compound such as swimming pool, football field, futsal pitch, basketball and badminton courts, and also archery and fencing. For learning part, almost all of the classes are equipped with ICT facilities apart from computer and science laboratories. The advanced ICT facility is not only to empower, promote change and foster the development of 21st century skills in students, but also to help the teachers become fully equipped with the latest technology that can be utilized in the classroom.
I strongly believe that both schools are creating more opportunities to unleash the students’ potential in moulding competent Islamic graduates as well as good and responsible global citizen. The teaching staff that come from all over the world, i.e., the West, Middle East, the African Continent, the Sub-continent, South-East Asia and Malaysia, are well-qualified and committed in serving and providing a world-class education for the leaders of tomorrow.
